Romeo and Juliet

Romeo and Juliet is a great classic play and I'm really happy we are getting a chance to read it in class. For starters, if we hadn't started the unit off with the Elizabethan language, I don't think I would understand the story as well as I do now so that was a great way to help us depict the style of writing by Shakespeare. Reading this play is a way to bring us back in time and see what things were like while at the same time telling us a great story. I really enjoy not only enjoy reading Romeo and Juliet, but I also like watching the movies in class and comparing the old to the new.

    I also agree that if we had not gotten the background knowlege on Elizabethan language, that it would be far more difficult than it is to understand the story of Romeo and Juliet. Comparing the movies have been also very helpful in increasing my understanding of the text as well.
