Hazel Grace was an average 13 year old until she was diagnosed with a terminal lung tumor. Although it is terminal she has managed to live 3 years with this thing slowly killing her. Hazel was taken out of school and called herself a homebody, reading books all day, going to the hospital when sick, and going to support group with other cancer survivors and fighters. One day her friend Isaac brought a friend named Augustus Waters... Gus was everything that Hazel could ever imagine and he was staring her way... Hazel went over to watch a movie at his house and after that they began going out continuously. Gus was a cancer survivor as well he had a tumor in his leg and it had been amputated. The couple were connected by a book and they dreamed of meeting the author. When diagnosed with cancer, patients are awarded with a wish; they can use this wish to travel anywhere they would like to go. Gus hadn't used his wish yet so he decided to take Hazel to Amsterdam where the author lived. Only to find out that the author didn't officially agree to tell them about the rest of the book. But, in the end they realized it didn't matter the book had brought them together and they were happy.
